We had such a perfect beach day yesterday that we hope for more of the same today.
//Stefan. We figure let’s just repeat yesterday
We walk along the promenade again this morning, heading back to the Royal Beach Club. We go earlier this morning so we can have some time there before lunch.
When we get back to our cabana, the kids go straight into the pool. Oly prefers not to get in very far, just up to his knees. Lillian, on the other hand, is just waiting to swim. We have to do lessons asap in New York.
After some cabana time, we walk into town for lunch. The wonderful woman next door, who came down for a swim this morning, tells us how to take a garage elevator up the hill to the main street. She’s directed us to a few local spots from there, but once we get off the elevator, we see a playground. A huge playground. And there’s a beautiful cafe patio right there. Yes, please.
We order prosciutto with caprese salad, a pizza and the handmade gnocchi. It’s all wonderful. But the best part is that the kids play the entire time except to run over and stuff their mouths when the food arrives. I would totally come back here to Antica Osteria.
We go back to our cabana for the rest of the afternoon. We all go swimming in the ocean. It’s so refreshing. And we relax a lot in the cabana, watching the sea.
//Stefan: LL actually get comfortable enough with her floaties that she putzes around the little bay by herself
Around 5pm, we head home. There’s an art fair in the Volosko marina that is really cool. We’d wander around more if Oly weren’t asleep on Stefan. We do a quick circle, then go back to the apartment for showers.
//Stefan LL cleaning off a few plates of sardines
We plan to have dinner at a local spot on the main road, not down by the water, but it’s Monday. Half the places are closed, and the other half are packed. We end up going back to the wonderful fish place from the first night. Lillian loves the sardines they serve as a complimentary taste. There’s a party down here again tonight, with a band playing techno music. Then they show a very strange video on the wall of a building across the marina. It’s basically just a lot of bubbling water.
//Stefan: music was good, kind of Croatian Interpol
We are all tired from our day of doing nothing, so it’s straight to bed when we get home.
//Stefan: kind of boring post
Stefan looks so French..Thank you for sharing! Seriously love waking up to see these posts!
