The Plan: 2016 Europe Road Trip

The Plan: 2016 Europe Road Trip

We have been living in Stockholm for the past two years and are moving back to New York City this Fall. We have said goodbye to our friends and moved out of our lovely apartment. Everything has been packed and is on a ship sailing across the Atlantic.

Except our car. Our beautiful old Renault Espace, which we’ve packed to the brim with everything we think we’ll need for the next four months. Our launchpad is Stefan’s summer house in Arild, Sweden. Though we’ve lived in Europe for two years, there is still so much we haven’t seen. So before returning to the real world, we are setting off to explore.

We hope to discover new places and more about one another. Yes it’s cheesy, but it’s true. Our family will spend the next four months with no other objective in mind. No work. No social calendar. Just family. If we don’t kill each other, this may be the most bonding experience our family has ever had.

125 days on the road. 6 different countries (not counting Sweden and Denmark): Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Croatia and Austria. Here we will chronicle our journey.

This is amazing and love that you’re chronicling this for us to follow your trip! I love how expressive Lillian and how sweet Oly are! Let me know if you want any reccos for the south of France – I drove around northern Provence for about 2 weeks a few summers ago!! Love!

Thanks, Kumiko! We are having a lot of fun with it. We would love recommendations. We will stay a few days in Montpellier and then a week in Aix en Provence. After that we’ll head up to Lyon. We aren’t planning on going to Nice and those South of France destinations. We know next to nothing about these areas of France, so please fill us in if you’ve been somewhere we should go!
